Sam Hepenstal has worked as a Data Scientist at Dstl since 2016, specialising in Human-Computer Interaction. His recent research focus has been on developing Human-Centred AI applications, through detailed human factors analysis. Prior to joining Dstl, Sam worked for local government and Hampshire Constabulary for 6 years, where he was responsible for designing and developing software applications to support intelligence analysis activities. Sam is currently undertaking a part time PhD in Computer Science with Middlesex University. He has an MSc in Operational Research from the University of Southampton, an MSc in Crime Science from UCL, and a BA degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Sussex.
