Biography
Dr. Jeong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a director of the Human-in-Mind Engineering Research (HiMER) Lab. He is also an affiliated faculty in the Richard and Loan Hill Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Jeong's research focuses on intelligent human interactive systems to bridge the critical communication gap between users and system designers. His research aims to design, implement, and evaluate future interactive systems from the human factors engineering perspective. He develops human behavior models based on eye and motion tracking data and cognitive processing theories. He also develops experimental prototypes and tools to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of human interactive systems. Specific application areas include mixed reality, human-robot interaction, transportation safety, and human performance modeling.
