DescriptionAs autonomous vehicles (AVs) become more prevalent on the roadways, accompanying driving technologies are being developed. Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication systems are one such development, allowing the dissemination of timely information to other drivers and road users. As more AVs are introduced on the road and their interactions with conventional vehicles continue, effective communications in mixed traffic are crucial not only for user acceptance of AVs, but for overall safety and efficiency as well. The use of V2I systems may be helpful in bridging the gap between AV users and non-users by supporting better communication and making all drivers more informed.
